But as for me, the nearness of
God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works. Psalm 73:28
Dear Friends,
We have made the Lord God our refuge and want to tell you about some of
His recent good works…
UGA International Students Danelle & I returned to Athens, Georgia to work with Rich & Mary Katherine Suplita. They invited us to participate in their international student Bible study. We enjoyed a meal and fellowship before we shared our testimonies. Then we read and discussed the Bible together.
It is always exciting to hear sincere questions that reveal hungry
hearts. One young coed was blown away by our returning to be there with her and
the others. We met her last month when we spoke on the UGA campus about
relationships. She is not a Jesus follower yet, but keep praying as she is
searching!
Mentoring House Churches We have enjoyed working with
our dear friends in Florida and North Carolina as we all learn to follow the
Lord and fish for men together as house churches. There are a few new
opportunities that God has brought along to mentor men who are considering functioning
as a house church or growing into healthier environments for discipleship. Danelle
and I covet your prayers for wisdom as we serve these saints. They need your
prayers for humility and a growing desire for God, His word, and loving people.
Pray for them to be faithful.
Prayer & Praise
1. UGA International
Bible Study. Pray for Rich & Mary as they continue to love and serve students. Pray
for many to start a relationship with Jesus! Pray for the coed from Taiwan, in
particular, to be saved.
2. House
Church Mentoring Pray for our mentoring of house church leaders – some new opportunities
as well as established relationships. We need God’s wisdom and grace to
envision and teach leaders.
3. Granddaughter Update on Wilhelmina, age 7.
She has had several surgeries in an attempt to save her leg with bone cancer. It
was a difficult process for her and her parents. Everything was hopeful until
they discovered the cancer had progressed too far. This week they had to amputate
her leg below the knee. They will resume the chemo treatments after she
recovers. She has 12 more treatments. Thank you for interceding for her and her
parents as they endure the challenges of this arduous process.
4. Danelle
& Steve Danelle’s MRI revealed a torn meniscus, cartilage damage, and bone spur.
She will probably need surgery in the next few weeks. A praise – my skin cancer was removed, and all
is well.
Thank you so much for praying!
Steve &
Danelle
