Nelson Newsletter – March 2011

Dear Friends,
We thank God that He continues to change lives here in Ukraine. Danelle and I spent last Friday evening with women from one rehab center. We met at the Power’s apartment
Danelle, Natasha, and Oksana
for dinner, fellowship and a great Bible discussion about how to avoid temptation. We have begun a weekly meeting with the leaders of the rehab centers. The past two Mondays I taught, first on how to develop Biblical convictions, and then on how to love and preserve the unity in the body of Christ. It’s always a pleasure to teach these dear saints because they are eager to learn and grow!

The Ukrainian house churches also continue to grow; leading others to Christ, and expanding the Kingdom. They are now completely led by nationals; therefore, we believe our ministry in Kiev is winding down. As you know, we have helped churches in Odessa, Ukraine and other countries like Moldova and Latvia.  In the fall, we may live in one of these places to train leaders and help them in evangelism. We would also like to help new house churches in Atlanta and the Southeast this summer. We will remain on staff with GCM, and we always appreciate your support!
In late April we will move out of our apartment in Kiev, and plan to spend the summer in Atlanta.  It will be a time of being Mom and Dad and Granddad and Grandmother, as well as a time of assessment and planning.  We will participate in a missionary evaluation at the end of May with Missionary Training International (MTI). They will help us evaluate our ministry in Ukraine, and give us guidance for our future ministry. I will also be attending the Great Commission Pastor’s conference in Indiana for encouragement and guidance.  Please pray for us as we seek God and His will for our future.

Our Prayer Requests:
1. Wrapping up ministry in Kiev and graceful closure with our friends.
2. Wisdom for our future ministry overseas as well as in Atlanta this summer.
3. Spirit-led counsel at MTI and the Pastor’s conference.
4. Quality time with our family, friends and supporters.

Yours in Christ’s love,

Steve and Danelle
